Pet Boarding Regulations
Each and every REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDER must ensure they are fully compliant with any applicable, United Kingdom, or European Union laws and with all and any local pet boarding regulations. PetHouse UK is NOT LIABLE for REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDERS having applied for a Boarding Establishment License or similar in accordance with the Animal Boarding Establishments Act 1963.
Working strictly within normal licensing rules and regulations relating to a provision of pet services will inter alia mean that each REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDER must also ensure:
- That animal will at all times be kept in accommodation suitable as respects construction, size of quarters, number of occupants, exercising facilities, temperature, lighting, ventilation and cleanliness;
- That animal will be adequately supplied with suitable food, drink and bedding material, adequately exercised, and (so far as necessary and desirable to keep them content and stress-free) visited at suitable intervals;
- That all reasonable precautions will be taken to prevent and control the spread among animals of infectious or contagious diseases, including the provision of adequate isolation facilities;
- That appropriate steps will be taken for the protection of the animals in case of fire or other emergency;
- That a register be kept containing a description of any animals received into the establishment, date of arrival and departure, and the name and address of the owner, such register to be available for inspection at all times by an officer of the local authority, veterinary surgeon or an authorized veterinary practitioner
- The number, breed and size of animals REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDERS will provide services for should depend on local regulations as well as any health and safety standards required to provide boarding or other services.
PetHouse UK, through its proprietary network of REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDERS arranges for the provision of the Services to REGISTERED PET OWNERS or even the general public who have visited our site and called a REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDER directly, including, but not limited to temporary pet boarding, commercial pet day care or private home pet day care and related services or other pet services in the comfort of the Service Providers’ or the OWNERS private premises.
As a REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDER, you may create listings, and will be asked detailed information about your place and pets (if relevant). You may set the pricing and terms for your services that you desire and display them within the parameters permitted by the Site. PetHouse UK does not charge a Service Fee to the REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDER.
By agreeing to our Terms & Conditions, both REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDERS and REGISTERED PET OWNERS are also assuming the responsibility of clear and frequent communication with each other. The opportunity exists for PET OWNERS to rate the service provided by PET SERVICE PROVIDERS and doing so will help other PET OWNERS to understand the quality of service they may expect from PET SERVICE PROVIDERS.
For REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDERS this sensible responsibility includes:
- Communicating respectfully and clearly with REGISTERED PET OWNERS. Responding to Direct communications from REGISTERED PET OWNERS requests promptly but in any event within the same working day.
- Responding to Enquiries within 24 hours.
- Being available to communicate with the OWNER from the moment a booking with that OWNER is confirmed. Specifically, up to 7 days before the booking start date, the REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDERS should always respond to REGISTERED PET OWNER queries no later than 8 hours from the query being sent and take responsibility to ensure that appropriate arrangements for the drop off and the pick up of the pet are clear and confirmed.
- Making sure all necessary forms and agreements are presented and signed in a way recognised as best practice for the service to be provided.
- Being available for a “Meet and Greet” before the booking commences as appropriate. If a REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDER does not provide an appropriate service in this regard, PetHouse UK reserves the right to remove the REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDER from the Site.
For REGISTERED PET OWNERS this sensible responsibility includes:
- Confirming and paying for bookings as agreed directly with the Service Provider.
- If the service is not needed anymore, canceling the request in order to notify the REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDER that their service is no longer needed.
- Being available to communicate with the REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDER from the moment a booking with that OWNER is confirmed. Specifically in the 7 days before the booking start date, the OWNER should always respond to the REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDER within the same working day, to ensure that all details are arranged before the booking begins and take responsibility to ensure that appropriate arrangements for the drop off and the pick up of the pet are clear and confirmed.
- Providing the REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDER with an alternative contact in case of an emergency.
General Good Practice for all that we would hope would be incorporated in the Business Terms and Conditions of individual PET SERVICE PROVIDERS are set out below – These matters should be looked into carefully by PET OWNERS so that these important good practice are considered and dealt with prior to any service being provided to any OWNER:
For Emergency Medical Situations Involving a OWNERS Pet:
REGISTERED PET OWNERS should ensure that the REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDER is provided with contact information to reach the OWNER in the event an emergency medical situation arises involving an OWNERS Pet. REGISTERED PET OWNERS and REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDERS acknowledge and agree that, to the extent any situation arises where the OWNERS Pet is required to receive emergency veterinary care while in the care or custody of the REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDER, the REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDERS shall make reasonable efforts to contact the OWNER and notify him or her of the situation. In no event should either party contact PetHouse UK as we are only a Platform enabling initial contact to be established. If a REGISTERED PET OWNER cannot be reached following reasonable efforts, the REGISTERED PET OWNER should have authorized the REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDER to authorize care on his/her behalf in order to promptly treat OWNERS pet. REGISTERED PET OWNERS should acknowledge and agree that the costs of any such treatment for emergency medical situations is the sole and exclusive responsibility of the REGISTERED PET OWNER and that REGISTERED PET OWNERS credit card may be billed for any amount to reimburse costs incurred by the REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDER attendant thereto. The determination of what constitutes an emergency medical situation in relation to such coverage is at the sole and exclusive discretion of the PET SERVICE PROVIDER AND THE PET OWNER and should be agreed before the service starts.
REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDERS cannot make any claim for any liability or create any rights or claims of any nature for REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDERS against PetHouse UK. REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDERS agree they have no right to assert any contribution, offset, or indemnification from PetHouse UK with respect to any liability of the REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDER for injury to a pet, other property or persons.
Both REGISTERED PET OWNERS and REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDERS agree that all legally mandated rules pertaining to the breed and its exemption as determined by the current legislation will be followed during the stay.
For Flea Situations involving an OWNERS Pet:
REGISTERED PET OWNERS acknowledge and should agree that, to the extent any situation arises where the OWNERS Pet introduces fleas into a REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDER ‘s place of business, the OWNERS credit card may be billed for any amount to reimburse costs incurred attendant thereto. These costs may include, but are not limited to, costs associated with treating a REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDER ‘s resident animals and/or home for fleas or flea prevention. PetHouse UK is not party to any agreement or transaction between OWNER and REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDERS and, as such, cannot verify or otherwise authenticate any claims made by the REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDER (including any medical certifications or insurance coverage held by the REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDER). Moreover, it is incumbent upon you to share any and all relevant information, including but not limited to medical issues, allergies or other conditions, about your pet prior to engaging the REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDER for pet boarding or other pet-care related services. - The discount is only valid for bookings made during the specified time period and for a minimum of specified nights.
- Standard minimum nights apply on the coupon (1 night) should nothing else be stated.
- A coupon code cannot be used with other discounts or coupon codes.
- Unless otherwise stated, coupons and promotions are applicable on a per household basis only.
- In addition, REGISTERED PET OWNERS of the same household should not create multiple PetHouse UK users nor split reservations with one or multiple pets solely with the purpose of benefiting from discounts or promotions.
- We reserve the right to not apply a specific promotion on any given booking, where there’s suspicion of misuse as defined by PetHouse UK from time to time or for any other reason at our sole discretion.
- If the total amount of a booking is equal or less to the value of the coupon/credit, we will need to charge a £1 fee, as bookings must have a nominal price when coupons are used.
- If you have to cancel a booking where a coupon was used, please contact support on [email protected] to reactivate your coupon.
- We have the right to make changes to these coupon code terms.
- No minimum service duration or booking value apply on the coupon for new users (customer with no previously completed bookings from one of our REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDERS at the Site)
- Standard minimum nights of boarding (1 nights), standard minimum days of day care (1 days), and standard minimum number of walking services (1 walk) apply on the coupon for existing users (customer with previously completed bookings from one of our REGISTERED PET SERVICE PROVIDERS at the Site).
